This is generally simple; the binding is usually determined for you by the type of boot and ski you have selected. Some skis have binding plates built in and when you have these plates you have a limited selection of bindings that will fit on the plate and that will match your boots. The plate systems are generally very specific. In many cases if you have a screw on binding this can be mounted on any ski.

For example, only an NNN (New Nordic Norm) Nordic Integrated Systems (NIS) binding will fit on an NIS plate while only at Turnamic binding will fit on a Turnamic or Integrated Fixation Plate (IFP). However, boots that fit Turmanic bindings will work with all NNN compatible bindings and all NNN compatible boots will work with Turmanic bindings. While all of these options might be confusing check out our compatibility chart.
