When you go for your first couple of skis each season it is important to work on your balance and glide.  Here is a video of the basic balance drills you can do for 5 minutes during your early season skis.  Doing these will improve your skiing confidence and your glide.  Plus, once you master these drills you can move on to more advanced and technical skiing drills.  Without these basics it will be hard to master your skating or classic technique.
